OUR COMMITMENT TO ABLAZE/EN FUEGO

The I National Hispanic Lutheran Convention celebrated in Los Angeles, California in august of 2003 adopted the following resolution:

Whereas: The Hispanic population in the United States is 37.4 million representing 13.3% of the population

Whereas: Recent polls show that only 30% of the US Hispanic population affir that they are persons committed to the Christian faith; and finally;

Whereas: The fields are white unto harvest and that our Church body lacks a Hispanic presence;

Be resolved: That the National Hispanic Lutheran Convention, the pastors, deaconesses, and other Hispanic church workers adopt as a missionary strategy, "En Fuego/Ablaze" and

Be resolved: That our Hispanic ministries resolve under by the grace and help of God to reach 6.135 million Hispanics with the Good News of our Savior Jesus Christ as Redeemer and Savior by the year 2017.
